Not everyday does one come across a multi faceted personality. Somebody who has the Midas touch. Ankit Sheth, an emcee turned techie turned businessman is also a marathoner and a sports enthusiast in general.
Mr. Sheth has struggled all his life despite being born in a good business family.
“I wanted to earn my own money. I started working at the age of 14 years, I guess. I started with emceeing. It is still my passion,” says Ankit with a hearty smile on his face. In the sports and fitness cicuit, Ankit has been a part of various marathons and recently did the Tata Steel Kolkata 25k marathon.
On being asked about juggling business and fitness training, Ankit says, “My office is 12km away from my house. I walk to and fro. That is the only workout I do when I am very busy. Otherwise I run 3-4 days a week.” He also loves travelling to new places and trekking there. He is going to Daringabandi, called the Kashmir of Odisha, later this month.
According to him, “Everyone has a story. Some have inked down after achieving it and some haven’t yet. In the end, everyone has to battle their own fights.” In his last TSK 25K, he had chest pain, shoulder pull, leg cramps, calf pull and heel ache. He never stopped though and finished his 25k course like a true champion. His indomitable spirit makes him different from the rest.
His immediate aim is to finish the IDBI Kolkata Full Marathon. Long term future aim is to keep himself fit. Walk, cycle, run, trek, play different sports- he will do everything he says to keep himself at a peak level of fitness.
“I have switched many professions. I have slogged hard. I have lived in many places and countries. I don’t give up. Never,” signs off Ankit.
