Vani Kapoor carded three over 74 on the final day to claim her second title of the season in the sixth leg of the Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour 2017 at the Poona Club Golf Course here on Friday. Gaurika Bishnoi and Amandeep Drall were tied second with identical scores of 225 after 54 holes. The INR 6,00,000 event culminated today.the  pro golfers Cheyenne Woods, Danielle Kang, Belen Mozo and the sister duo of Jessica and Nelly Korda. It also features a trailblazer for the women’s game (Jan Stephenson), a former Miss Idaho (Melissa Jones, wife of PGA Tour pro Matt Jones), a. And, of course, Fox Sports golf and NFL reporter Holly Sonders, who is the only woman to appear in all four editions of our franchise. Aditi Ashok carded an even par 72 on the final day to become the first Indian to lift the Hero Women’s Indian Open at the DLF Golf. B.R. Ambedkar said, “I measure the progress of a community by the degree of progress which women have achieved.” So, it stands true that to check and comment on the progress of golf in India, we need to comment on the women playing golf in the country. Women golfers are slowly and steadily coming to the forefront and it shouldn’t be long before they reach the very top. This 5’5” girl stands tall with an Official Women’s World Ranking (Rolex Ranking) of 740. She is a member of the Indian golf team and started playing golf when she was just 9 years old.

Gauri is from New Delhi and ranks 843 in the Official Women’s World Ranking (Rolex Ranking). She started playing golf when she was 12. She turned pro in 2014 and also won the title of Rolex Player of the year in 2008 and 2010. Before turning pro in 2014 she ranked #1 on the IGU Ladies Amateur Merit list 2008-09 and 2010-11. Sharmila is a 25 Year old Bengaluru girl was the youngest Indian golfer to qualify for the european tour. She  won her first tournament at the age of 14 with a staggering margin of 15 Strokes. She is known for her aggressive rounds of practicing & spends at least 6 hours a day on the course.  She Ranked #1 in 2011 on the WGAI rankings & is ranked 7th in 2016. But this fighter looks ferocious this season & is expected to give other contenders a run for their money.
