Mumbai: Chinese Smart Phone company Vivo extended their validity to be the sponsors of Indian Premier League. Vivo was the sponsors of Indian Premier League for the last two seasons. In the first five seasons from 2008-12 DLF was the Title sponsors paying 40 crore per year and totally DLF paid 200 crore for five years. The next three seasons were sponsored by Pepsi for the rate of 79 crore per year. Pepsi sponsored IPL for the year 2013-15.
For extension of the deal VIVO likely to pay 2199 crore for the years from 2018-22. That means VIVO needs to pay 440 crore per year. With this sponsorship IPL became the richest league in the world. By paying 440 crore per year. VIVO passed the record of Barclays for the years 2013-16 in English Premier league. In that year Barclays paid 330 crore per year. But now VIVO overcame it. VIVO overcame the challenge from OPPO, the Indian cricket sponsors. OPPO given an amount of 1430 crore for the five-year.
In the Pro Kabbadi VIVO claimed the sponsorship for five years term for 300 crore. OPPO in the previous year claimed the sponsorship of Indian cricket of for 1079 crore. VIVO and OPPO are the sub groups of B.B.K group of China
