“My ability is stronger than my DISABILITY”

We all can’t deny the fact that we all complaint about the things we do not have or the things we are running short of, we do not pay attention to what we have. The real lesson of life lies in the learning that we should be happy with what we have because what we have might be something what someone else is just dreaming of. Most of us just sit back and complaint or blame the god or the situation or not being in our favour r giving us a flaw. But then there are a handful of some great enthusiastic souls living amidst us who not only inspire us but also prove that any physical disability cannot be greater than the will, courage, hard-work, and dedication that an individual possess in himself/herself. Your physical disability can never really become a barrier in the path of achieving your goal until and unless you make your disability conquer the fire in your heart.

Devendra Jhajharia is a Rajasthan based athlete with an amputated hand. At the age of 8 he lost his left hand by touching a live wire. On top of it He belongs to a very poor family. All these circumstances did not make him weak or deter his will to achieve big goals. He believed in himself and his hard-work.

In 1976 he was spotted by the Dronacharya award winner coach R.D. Singh by his performance during an event in his school for sport’s day function. That was the day, since then there has been no looking back and stopping for him.

“The problems in life are just stepping stones, that make you sore even higher heights.” Is that statement this athlete proves to be true. All the bad days that he faced, all the problems that he went through were just like stepping stones he swiftly and gracefully passed through and came out like a furnished gem.

He has been making his country extremely proud. In 2004 he qualified javelin throw at the Athens Paralympics. And that was when he brought glory to his country’s, family’s and his own name. he created history.

In his first Paralympics only, he broke the world record of 59.77m, his throw was of 62.15m. with that he became the second Indian to win a Paralympic gold medal in the history of India. Around a decade later he qualified for Paralympics in Rio, with a clear cut thought that he will repeat his performance of Athens in Rio. He not only stood by his words but also broke his own record od 62.15m, by giving a whooping throw of 63.97m., and with respect to that he becomes the first Indian the hold the prestige of having two gold medals from the Paralympics.

Critics are there all over the world, no matter how much good you do, how dedicated you are, people are hypocrites and will always land up looking at all the negative signs and put your glory down, and if they can’t find any negativity they start assuming things that never really exist and same happened with this magnificent man. But he again proved he is one of his kind, he kept quiet and allowed his javelin not only speak clear but shout out to the world.

“Whenever I went for competitions, people would either look at me with pity or say that I’ve been recommended here or had some source. But then when they see me throwing my javelin they come to me and tell me- I am a champion.”

Year by year IPL (Indian Premier League) has grown its audience in India and also abroad. It all started from 2008, when the mega extravaganza got kicked off by a scintillating performance from Kolkata Knight Riders, with a special performance by Brendon McCullum (scoring 158 Runs from just 73 Balls). Year by year, IPL has served its viewers with great everyday cricket action LIVE on thier television sets at 8PM and 4 PM (on weekdays). What sets this league apart is the amount of local talent which shows up each year to impress the selectors and the fans. Certainly the team owning the best local talents gets to the top, as their selection means that the team can experiment with the 4 international players they play each game. The 4-7 Formula

Indian Premier League has brought many uncapped players to the forefront, right from the start. The 4-7 formula which basically means the inclusion of only 4 international players in the playing 11 has proved to be beneficial for the whole cricketing fraternity. This has forced the highly financed franchisees to scout the local talented players which can given their side- the extra edge !

Certainly, the side which masters this formula has the better chance of winning the title each season. Obviously the mixture of international players does play a role. Let us look at the team of IPL 10 for Mumbai Indians

MUMBAI INDIANS : 4-7 Formula – Winning Combination that worked

Mumbai Indians are currently ranked No. 1 in the standings (24th April) having lost only 1 game out of their quota. The reason of their success is simple !

  • Local Talents
  • Form
  • Team Mentality
  • Crowd Support
  • Owner’s Will
  • Experience in the dugout (Support Staff)
  • Capped local players & International Player Combinations

Let us look at what Mumbai Indians have in their arsenal that is enough to get them over the line this VIVO IPL 10.

Mumbai Indian’s local-‘not so expensive’ potential talents outperform any team on their day. We have recently witnessed the likes of Nitish Rana and Hardik Pandya taking on the responsibility of getting their teams out of the crucial stages of an innings and giving their team convincing victories. Recall the day when Mumbai Indians were in trouble facing the Kolkata Knight Riders, but then came Hardik Pandya who smashed it all around the park to register a great victory and snatch the win from the opposition.

Not only Nitish and Hardik, but the likes of Krunal Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Ambati Rayudu & Unmukt Chand gives the team great balance and the liberty to experiment with the international chunk.

   2. Form

We all know that the explosive batsman Rohit Sharma has just risen from his injury and the team is lacking that firepower up in front. But Mumbai Indians hasn’t shown any signs of disability, since the team is in great form. Bumrah bowling the Yorkers, Nitish Scoring runs in the middle, Kieron Pollard handling the tough situations when required, Malinga & Harbhajan feeding the side with experience and Hardik delivering sixes on his will- All of this is just adding to the great run this team is on. The result is in front of us. Mumbai Indians have just lost 1 game in their 7 till now and now are on the verge to qualify for yet another playoffs.

3.  Team Mentality

Every team goes through tough situations in the format. Mumbai Indians have been clinical in such situations. They have been found in the dead rubber twice this season. Once with the Kolkata Knight Riders and the other time recently with the Delhi Daredevils. Both those games could have been lost easily, given the team mentality wasn’t stable and positive. But, the blues have shown that they mean business this season by pulling off both those games.

4. Crowd Support:

The blues have always had a great support throughout the season, specially for the home games at the financial capital of the nation. The crowd really gets behind the team, which gives the adrenaline rush to pull it off 7 days a week.  Since the team has big names on paper, it is obvious to receive great support in away games as well. This might not sound convincing enough to win a game, but the greats say that it does makes a difference on the game. Maybe, Kolkata Knight Riders benefit the most from it at the Edens?

5.  Owner’s Will

Mrs. Nita Ambani has been one of the most regulars at the dugout. Most team owners come only at the Home games, but it has been quite evident that Mrs. Nita Ambani has taken the task seriously to support the team and get the team together to carry the momentum. Such support was instrumental in brining the trophy home for Mumbai Indians- the first time. At a recent MI event, Mrs. Nita Ambani admitted the same and was applauded by many attending the event.

5.  Experience in the dugout ( Support Staff)

Ever since Kings XI Punjab changed their support staff and brought in Sanjay Bangar as their coach, their fortunes changed. They have been performing well. This shows that the experience in the dugout is equally important against the experience in the playing XI. Mumbai Indians has a support staff which is world class. We aren’t calling it world class without a reason.

MI has the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Mahela Jayawardhane, Shane Bond, Robin Singh, Johnny Rhodes who are the backbone for the team. Having such a staff who is mentoring the team leads the team only to one way, which is up.

6. Capped Local Players and International Player Combination

Mumbai Indians have applied the best success mantra- which is,playing with best combinations – always !

The side has local talents who are also capped for the national side, which is a great thing because they too come with the international experience which is handy in the league. Along with the capped young talents, the team has the players like Michell Mcclenagan, Lasith Malinga, Lendl Simons, Kieron Pollard & Jos Butler who govern the pitch.

All international players have left a great impression unlike other teams, which have 1-2 flops each season. Thus, giving the team the impetus to win the trophy yet again !

The above points makes us believe that Mumbai Indians are the one who have the perfect combination to win the League title this year. Who do you think will win this year’s IPL? Let us know in the comments on Facebook.
