What Degrees Are Required to Become a Fitness Trainer?

Blog by: Suryakant Tripathi

Fitness trainers motivate their clients to improve health by demonstrating exercises and teaching physical activity. They are not the same as athletic trainers, who prevent and treat sports injuries. Fitness trainers may lead aerobics classes at gyms or help clients in their homes with weight training. Employers prefer to hire trainers with credentials.

Degrees

The Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that no degrees are necessary to become a fitness trainer, though some employers do prefer an associate or bachelor’s degree in a fitness field, and master’s degrees are available. A typical major for the field is exercise science, suggests the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. This course of study explains human movement and how the body responds and adapts to physical activity. Though the field has broad disciplines, it can focus on developing and leading exercise programs. The undergraduate program typically takes four years and combines “scientific research, education and practical applications” that will “enhance health, fitness, performance, and quality of life.”

Certifications

What fitness trainers need for employment is certification, which they can obtain by attending classes. They may need to work with experienced trainers until they achieve a credential and are allowed to work independently with clients. Certification can take varying amounts of time and is offered by different organizations. For example, the training for yoga instructors that is available from the Yoga Alliance can take from a few days to over two years. The National Commission for Certifying Agencies, which is part of the Institute for Credentialing Excellences, lists accredited organizations that offer certification.

Process

Nearly all trainers have at least a high school diploma and certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation before they walk the certification path. The process usually involves classroom and practical instruction, and passing written and practical exams that measure knowledge of human physiology, assessment of fitness levels and understanding of exercise techniques. The American Council on Exercise, for example, offers personal trainer certification packages that consist of manuals, flash cards, videos, practice tests and other materials that allow study at home. Testing is computer-based but must be taken at specific sites.

Salaries

The American Council on Exercise shows how education made a difference in compensation in its 2010 salary survey. A personal trainer with a high school diploma averaged $45,516 annually. Mean yearly pay increased to $47,356 with some college training, $50,597 with a bachelor’s degree and $67,287 with a master’s degree. Group fitness trainers earned a yearly mean $42,617 with some college, $43,746 with a bachelor’s degree and $54,137 with a master’s. The survey did not have sufficient data for group fitness trainers with high school diplomas.

Pakistan’s road to Champions trophy- what’s the secret behind it?

Blog By- Harinadh.A.S

Pakistan made their first in Champions Trophy in 2017. Many secrets are behind their victorious run. Fakhar Zamam is a new discovery for Pakistan. Their bowling got a new direction after the entry of Mohammed Amir came back in to the squad. The senior players like Younis Khan and Misbah Ul Haq had retired, they are very experienced batsmen, but they were not able to lift a Champions trophy for Pakistan. Sarfraz and his boys were the balanced team. It is not a good team but it is an average team. India is a best team, but India lost to them, this is due to Pakistan’s strategy to defend India.

Pakistan got new-new ideas from the match that they had lost to India. They got the potential to out place Indian batting. Their bowling and batting got a good support each other. Their team got an innovative break through with the help of Amir who broke India’s top three batsmen. India failed in making a best top five batting order. Spinners were failure in the final. Pakistan used the first batting well in the batting pitch. India failed in using the toss.

Sarfraz shined as a captain and also as a wicket keeper batsman. So the credit should be not only for the coach Mickey Arthur, but also the captain. He maintained the balance of the team.

JAVUR JADADEESHAPPA SHOBHA

BLOG BY : Riya Rathore

javur jadadeeshappa shobha is born 14 January 1978 is the Indian for track and field athlete from the village pashupathihaal in Karnataka. In the Olympics 2004, she braved an excruciating finishing a creditable 11th in the gruelling event. It was my first Olympics and it gave me valuable experience,” Javur said . J J Shobha displayed admirable grit and determination as she soldiered on despite a ligament injury to finish the gruelling women’s heptathlon at the Olympic Games. Shobha battled excruciating pain in her left knee to take the 11th place with 6172 points, while her compatriot Soma Biswas logged 5965 points to finish 24th at the Olympic stadium. The gold went to Carolina Kuft of Sweden who got 6952 points, while Lithuanian Austra Skujyte (6435) clinched the silver, and Great Britian’s Kelly Sotherton (6424) claimed the bronze.  the big stage didn’t frighten heptathlete J.J. Shobha, who soaked its energy in. Even though she heard something go “thak-thak” during the javelin. It was the cruciate ligament in her knee making a sound as it snapped. Two days later, she could barely walk but on the pubnight she had loved the sight and sound of the crowd. She wanted to remain in that glittering stadium, to belong. n many ways this is the generation that has watched an Indian twosome go out and be world beaters as if it were written in the stars. Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi had not even contemplated finishing up without a medal, even if Andy Roddick waited in the first round and Roger Federer in the second. Their bronze medal match turned into a four-hour epic tragedy that smashed hearts as if they were made of glass. A Sports Ministry official says, “The issue at hand is not whether doping has been around but if Indians would get away with it at the international level. The cover has been blown.” And it has been blown at the biggest event in world sport, leaving athletes, coaches and officials scrambling for plausible answers. hat Shobha would not win any medal was a foregone conclusion long before the Olympics. But the fighting quality she displayed in the 800m in the women’s heptathlon earned the praise of everyone around. She was injured in the javelin throw, the penultimate event, and was carried out, yet returned to finish third in the 800m. She finished 11th overall, but sitting in the stands I felt proud for her. She proved that she was there to fight it out, not as a passenger like some of her better known teammates.

Choosing a fitness trainer. Male or Female?

Blog by: Suryakant Tripathi

Getting in shape is the goal of many people all over the world. While some of them can do it alone, others need the help of a personal trainer. When you are in the process of choosing a trainer, you may wonder whether it is in your best interest to choose a male or a female. This article will explain why the latter is the best choice.

From A Female Perspective:
Going to the gym is something many women dread, especially after having children. It can be hard to face yourself in the shape you are in, which means it is so much harder to feel comfortable in front of others. Hiring a female personal trainer would make things a bit easier since they may be able to relate. Since the comfort level may be higher, this will increase the chances of you getting the most from your workout. There may be some exercises that will make you feel awkward and you may feel more comfortable discussing this with someone of the same sex.

The female body is not built the same as a man’s, which means that you cannot expect the same exercises to work for both sexes. While there are many male trainers out there that can help you just as much as a female, you may not feel confident enough in this theory to take a chance. The reality is that a female trainer will never second guess herself about the training she is giving you since she most likely employs the same methods as part of her own routine to stay fit. Again. it is important to know that males can be competent in this arena, yet it only makes sense to hire a female for this particular job.

From A Male Perspective:
Have you ever gone to the gym and felt inadequate because all of the men in the room are fit than you are? This is a good reason for you to consider a female personal trainer. While you may think it can affect a man to have a woman whip him into shape, this is a lot better than feeling silently defeated because your body is nowhere near as toned as the one of your male trainer. Yes, females can be just as fit, but there is that part of the male psyche that can accept that easier than the thought of being shown up by another guy.

Going to the gym is something that many guys look forward to, yet there are others that dread the entire idea. Sometimes it is a task to gain enough motivation to get you in the gym and work out. If you have a female personal trainer, you may feel an overwhelming need to impress her. Obviously, this should not be the main reason for hiring a female trainer. You should hire a trainer based on a number of different factors, mostly if there’s a good fit between you and the trainer. Many men find female personal trainers to be a bit less intimidating than their male counterparts, so they can feel free to let her know if they are doing something that is too much for him to handle. When training with another man, it is likely you will end up trying to grin and bear it.
There are several strong arguments that prove that it may be best for you to hire a female personal trainer. If you have any doubts, you can always try a few sessions to see if you like it. While this is not a decision for everyone, many who follow this advice will find that they are much more satisfied with the results.

As mentioned above, the process of hiring a trainer should be done with care – whether you hire a male or female trainer, make sure they have the proper credentials, experience, and qualifications.
