Indian Hockey team Captain P.R. Shreejesh is an inspiring personality for the Indian youth. He is the best goal keeper for India. He was born on 8th may 1986. He became a hockey player and appeared for the Indian Junior Hockey team in his early age.
He made his debut against Australia in Junior Hockey against Australia at Perth. He became his debut for Indian senior team in the year of 2006 at the south Asian games, which was held at Colombo. He became the ‘Best Goal keeper of the tournament’ in the Junior Asia cup and 2013 Asia cup. He became a permanent member in the senior team in 2011. His big achievement was being the part of the commonwealth silver procuring team in 2014. In the 2014 Asian Games, which was held in Incheon, he helped India getting the gold defeating Pakistan in the finals. He starred in the match by making two saves in the penalty shoot out.
Under his guidance Indian hockey team reached Quarter final of the Rio 2016 Olympics. His men in blue defeated the 2016 Olympics winners Argentina in the group stage. But in the Quarter they got defeated and that closed their way. He helped the team in gaining a Silver in the Men’s Champions trophy. His team showed high quality performance, but faced defeat in the final minute of the game.
Due to his injury Indian team was not able to raise the Cup in the 2018 Hockey Champions Trophy. Now his under injury and he is not included in the current going on Hockey World League team.
