Indian golfers keep on disappointing in golf as golfer Aditi Ashok finishes Round 3 of women’s individual stroke-play of Rio Olympics 2016 at No. 56. Ashok displayed a very good game in Round one as she finished at No. 7 at the end of that round with two birdies and all par scores.
However, the golfer failed to maintain the similar form in Rounds 2 and 3, and kept of hitting bogeys which took her rank down significantly. Ending at No. 17 after Round 2, the golfer failed to improve and dropped 28 positions to finish at No. 56 on Friday.
Aditi managed to hit only one birdie in Round 3 at the five-par-hole at No. 5 but kept on making mistakes as she conceded bogeys and double bogeys time and again, taking her position down. The athlete will now look to take part in the final round of the event on Saturday to finish at a respectable position.
At the end of Round 3, Sydia Ko lead the positions having hit an eagle and four birdies. At No. 2 is Su Oh with seven birdies.
India’s performance in golf has not been up to the mark in the men’s events as well. Golfers SS Chawrasia completed at No. 50 after final round while Anirban Lahiri finished the same at No. 57. Now, it all depends upon Aditi Ashok if India makes a mark with their performance in golf on it’s inclusion to Olympics after over a century.
