Breakfast
The most important meal of the day! If you start your day with a healthy breakfast you tend to stay motivated to eat healthy throughout the day. It will also give you energy to get going at the work place and keep you in a good mood. The word itself suggests “Break-the-fast”. It is important to break your fast of the long hours of night as soon as you get up from the bed. Study has shown people who have healthy breakfast every day lead a healthier life and stay active. We don’t eat for 9 to 10 hours during night (that is taking into consideration dinner at least 2 hrs before bedtime). Our brain is deprived of fuel for so long. The fuel for the brain is Glucose. So Carbohydrates should be the main part of your breakfast. Include some proteins like eggs, paneer, soya or tofu. Start your day with a fruit. A citrus fruit will be an excellent choice. Have whole fruits instead of juices. Healthy Smoothies are good but don’t throw away the good fiber from vegetables and fruits. If you are working out in the mornings, a banana or a melon will be good as a pre workout fruit. Have variety in your breakfast. Eating the same food every day is boredom and you will get all the nutrients from different foods.

Banana Oats Pancake

Ingredients
1 cup rolled oats
2 egg
1 banana
¼ cup milk
Pinch of salt
1 tsp honey (optional)
Fruits for topping
Preparation
Grind the oats in a mixer to become a powder. Mash a banana in a bowl, add the egg and beat it. Mix in the oats, salt. Add the milk to make the batter. (It should not be runny) Heat the nonstick pan and pour the ladle full mixture on it. Make it golden brown. Serve it with fruit on the side or as toppings.
