Indian women loses to South Africa.

Leicester: Indian Women’s team lost to South African team in the Women’s Cricket world cup. India faced a defeat after consecutive four wins in the World cup. India won the toss and decided to bowl first.

South Africa lost their first wicket in starting itself. But Lizelle Lee turned the hero for South Africa scoring 92 for 65 balls. She played an awesome innings. She smashed ten 4s and seven 6s. All the players given their own contribution for the team’s run.Then captain Dane Van Niekerk with 57 runs off 66 balls also shined well. Their innings ended in 273 for nine wicket in 50 overs. Shikha Pandey got three wickets. Harmanpreet Kaur and Ekta got two wickets each.

India started smoothly. For India Deepti Sharma scored 60 runs off 111 balls. Jhulan Goswami with 43 off 79 balls defended South African bowling. Four Indian players got out without taking any run. Punam Raut(22), Deepti Sharma and Jhulan Goswami were the players, who gave South Africa a tough game. For South Africa, Captain Dane Van Niekerk plucked four wickets. Indian innings ended in 158 in 46 overs, without any wickets in hands.

Captain Dane Van Niekerk became the ‘Player of the Match’ for her all rounding performance. South Africa won the match by 115 runs.
