India lost to Canada for the fifth position match in HWL

London: India lost to Canada for the fifth position of Hockey World League. India became sixth with the lose to Canada in the Hockey World League. India already got entry for the Hockey World cup 2018, Canada also ensured their position. India lost to them for 2-3. For India Harmanpreet Singh made two goals from two penalty corners in 7th and 22nd minute of the game.

For Canada, they opened the account in the third minute of the game by Gardon Johnson. India came back with lead after the goal in the 22nd minute. But Kegan Pereira made the equalizer goal in the 40th minute and Gardon Johnson again made the lead for Canada in the 44th minute of the game.

Antoni Kindle made heroic saves for Canada, which made Canada’s fifth position safe. In the last minutes of the game Kindle made a smart save of Mandeep Singh’s counter attack. In the last Quarter the game remains with a lack of goal.

India defeated Canada in the group stage, but this time India missed it to do the same. The  11th ranked Canadians defeated the 6th ranked Indians. India will play as a host in the next year’s Hockey World Cup and Hockey World League.
