Adelaide: Indian squash player Harinder Pal Sandhu won the South Australian open squash title. He defeated Rhys Dowling of Australia for the score of 11-8 12-10 11-4. He was the former national squash champion. He faced a heavy game from the Australian in the first two sets. He easily over came the Australian in the last set.

The 28-year-old squash player from Mohali, Punjab early won the PSA title in the last may. Early in the South Australian Open he defeated the top ranked Piedro Schweertman in the semi-final. He is currently world ranking no. 77. His best Ranking in his career is ranking no. 56 in 2014.

He took his first two PSA titles in the Indian Challenger series in 2009. He won three PSA titles and he became the national winner in the year 2015. This victory in the South Australian Open will help him in boosting his rankings. This was his eight title in his career.

He was the part of Indian squash team in the Asian Games at Incheon. He took part in the doubles along with Sourav Ghoshal and won gold medal in that event.

He won two more PSA tournaments in May 2017. He became the winner of Makati Open and Malaysian tour recently.
