    HUMPY KONERU

    Blog by : Anuradha Guha HUMPY KONERU Humpy Koneru is an Indian chess grandmaster. Koneru was born on 31st March, 1987 in Vijaywada in Andhra Pradesh. Her name originally was Hampi which meant ‘champion’. Her father later changed her name to ‘Humpy’ to more closely resemble a Russian-sounding name. Koneru won three gold medals at World Youth Chess Championship, one in 1997 under 10 girls division, one in 1998 under 12 girls division and another in 2000 under 14 girls division. In 1999 the Asian Youth Chess Championship was held in Hyderabad. She won at it under 14s’ division, competing with boys. Koneru won the World Junior Girls’ Championship in 2001.…

    Falcons in Finals!!

    Mumbai: Falcons TTK reached the finals of the Ultimate Table tennis league of India. They defeated Maharahtra TTK in the semi and reached the finals. Falcon defeated Maharashtra TTK for 14-5. Liam Pitchford and Wu Yang made their victory easier. Pitchford defeated Wong Chung Ting f and Harmeet desai of Maharashtra. He defeated Chung Ting for 2-1 and Harmeet Desai for 3-0. Maharashtra started the match by victory in the first set of the semi. Falcon’s sanil Shetty was defeated by Maharashtra’s world no.8 player Wong Chun Ting.     Harinder pal Singh wins Australian open!!!

    Blog By- Harinadh.A.S Adelaide: Indian squash player Harinder Pal Sandhu won the South Australian open squash title. He defeated Rhys Dowling of Australia for the score of 11-8 12-10 11-4. He was the former national squash champion. He faced a heavy game from the Australian in the first two sets. He easily over came the Australian in the last set. The 28-year-old squash player from Mohali, Punjab early won the PSA title in the last may. Early in the South Australian Open he defeated the top ranked Piedro Schweertman in the semi-final. He is currently world ranking no. 77. His best Ranking in his career is ranking no. 56 in 2014.…

Pankaj Advani along with Laxman Rawat India won the Asian Championship. India beat Pakistan to clinch the Asian Snooker Championship. In the first game Advani made with Pakistan’s Mohammed Bill. Pankaj Advani and Mohammed  Bilal got 83 points in the game, while Pankaj Advani got 88 points. Laxman Rawat attacked Pakistan’s Babar Masih without allowing him to gain a point.     India’s IPCA world champion

    Pune’s Shashikant Kutwal won the 17th IPCA World Individual Chess Championship in Slovakia on Tuesday. The 37-year-old also became an International Master (IM). He competed it in a combined group with men and women becoming the highest scorer, with 7.5 points from a possible nine. The event attracted 40 physically challenged players from several countries. Kutwal garnered 7.5 point from possible nine, after winning seven rounds and drawing one and losing one. He competed it in a combined group with men and women becoming the highest scorer along with Israel’s IM Gurbanov Andrei who also gained 7.5 points.
