Blog by: Sulagna Das

It’s no surprise that BFY stands as one of India’s premier Health and Fitness Training, Consultancy and Placement organisation because of its unwavering determination and passion towards the world of our well-being. It is the support and confidence that they constantly provide us to make ourselves believe that we can our necessary goal of being fit and healthy.
It is the same support and confidence that they pass onto their students who turn out to be not just a great fitness instructor, but a better human being. They are resilient, optimistic about their goals and eager to help others out.
So I decided to get in touch with one such student from New Delhi, Vivek Bhardwaj, who expressed his journey through his perception and it’s no less than inspiring. Here’s what Vivek had to say:

When did you start your Journey as a Fitness Instructor?
It’s been almost 3 years now that I have been working as a fitness instructor.

What inspired you to become a Fitness Instructor?
My own transformation from fat to fit inspired me to become a fitness instructor.

What are the qualifications required?
To become an instructor, you have to be a Certified Fitness Instructor or a Certified Personal Trainer. At least have a graduation degree in any field. If your graduation is related to fitness, then it will be a plus point.

How do you keep yourself updated about the latest fitness trends?
Now-a-days, it’s very important to keep yourself updated because there is a huge variety of different types of workouts and I think, the best way to keep yourself updated is through workshops.

What opportunities can one get if they want to make a career in Fitness?
Fitness Industry has a great future. People are now aware about the benefits of good health and its importance.

What are the challenges you’ve had to face with clients in this field?
Till now, I have never faced any tough challenge because I always manage my things in advance, so that I can be on the safe side.

How has been your journey so far in this field?
It has been 3 years now. Getting out of my comfort zone and pursuing my dream no matter how weird, stupid or plain disturbing the situations had been.

Do you have any advice for the new comers?
Study hard, learn everything properly and you will definitely enjoy your work.

How do you see fitness in the future?
There is no end point when it comes to fitness. The future of fitness is so bright.

Do you have any tips for people who want to train with a personal trainer?
Just make sure that your trainer is certified or not. Please avoid “Guru ji’s” because they are not good for your health.

Can you talk about 1 or 2 Workouts techniques? Any one of your choice or one of your personal favourites?
One. Functional Training is a classification of exercise which involves training the body for the activities performed in daily life.

  1. Deadlift. PURPOSE: This move will help strengthen all pulling muscles.
  2. Power Clean. PURPOSE: Total-body explosiveness.
  3. Overhead Press. PURPOSE: To build upper-body and core strength.
  4. Front Squat. PURPOSE: To strengthen your lower body and enhance athletic posture.

Two. TRX training body-weight exercise develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability, simultaneously.

  1. TRX Push-Up. Targets: Shoulders, chest, arms.
  2. TRX Chest Press. Targets: Arms, chest.

Why did you choose BFY?
They have the best and easiest way of teaching techniques. They are amazing and the staff is very supportive.
